* LETTERING progress on Septic Isle is slow but steady. I've got the week after next off work and plan to have it all finished and ready for Diamond to see by the end of that break. To be honest, I find lettering slow and laborious, even though it gives me the opportunity to tinker with the script a bit.
* I WAS in London yesterday, having been invited to pitch some ideas to a newly-formed Los Angeles-based film production company. This is the first time I've pitched anything to anyone but the meeting went pretty well and they definitely liked a few of my ideas. I've agreed to work up more detailed outlines of three of my pitches (including Septic Isle and Kurse) and we'll see what happens from there.
* IT looks like Moonface Press will be publishing its first comic series written by someone else (i.e. not me). It's a six-issue superhero-based mini-series. As well as publishing the book, I'm going to be lettering it and doing a bit of script editing, too. More news when everything's 100 per cent confirmed...

I'm looking forward to the Septic Isle movie!
Not as much as I'm looking forward to reading the lettered book, though!
I was hoping to have a fully lettered dummy with you next week but I'm off to Warwick for a couple of days (one of my oldest friends has just become a dad for the first time) so it will be the week after now.
I think we both know who should play Marley in a SI film, but who do you fancy for Maggie? I think Parker Posey might get my vote, although saying that, at 39, she's nearly a decade too old!
...and she sports some of the worst cosmetic surgery going, doesn't she?
wow, that's great news about the film pitching.
glad someone's having a good time,lately.
i f*cking hate my boss.
I think that as long as there's a marked age difference between the two, it doesn't matter if she's played by someone a bit older than she is in the book. I'd like Monica Bellucci to play Maggie. She's also too old and she's too Italian, but I just need to see her in more movies!
I'll think about this more seriously once I've stopped perving! As long as it's not bleedin' Natalie Portman, who's becoming ubiquitous lately.Actually, it might be quicker if I go through all the actresses I hate, and by process of elimination, come up with a goody!
Carla Gugino (check her out at imdb.com) might be my choice actually. She's been in Entourage lately and she's 1) a bloody good actress and 2) gorgeous. She was in Sin City, too.
what does 'ubiquitous' mean?
It means someone who appears to be everywhere at any given time.
Have to agree with you on the Carla Gugino front Andy. Great actress, and absolutely stunning.
Great to hear about all this stuff in the pipeline Andy, good on ya.
Dec.
Carla Gugino is a good choice. I'm aware of who she is because she played the mother in the Spy Kids movies, and my kids love those movies!
even the one with rocky in it?
That one was shit.
I think Carla Gugino is also playing Sally Jupiter in the Watchmen movie, which I'm personally dreading.
the casting,or the film?
the screenshots i've seen so far look faithful, but seeing as they didn't cast david caruso and his ginger ego as rorschach,or arnie as dr manhatten,or bobby de niro as nite owl,or that bloke from get shorty and snatch as the comedian,or micheal york as ozymandias,or...
/deep breaths...
/thinks happy thoughts...
